Delhi Capitals was one of the most exciting owners at the event as it followed many big names in IPL 2022
In the Indian Premier League 2022(IPL 2022) mega auction underway, In the two-days auction event took place in Bangalore and many players went under a huge hammer.
At the same time, some key names did not even get an auction and went unsold. Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals enjoyed a good time at the auction as they came out with a strong squad.
DC was one of the most exciting owners at the event as it followed many big names. After all, they have worked with a star-studded team for the past two seasons.
It should be noted that DC retained Rishabh Bandh, Akshar Patel, Prithviraj Shah, and Anrich Nordje before the auction and went down to auction with a purse of Rs 47.5 crore.
David Warner was bought by Delhi Capitals:
7 of the 10 Marquee players followed and they acted immediately. However, they managed to get David Warner for only Rs 6.25 crore. Since Warner is one of the most successful batsmen in IPL history, his contract was stolen for DC. Significantly, DC placed more emphasis on players with diversity and they were able to get some key names.
Mitchell Marsh of Australia, who was recently at Red Hot Farm, moved to DC for Rs 6.5 crore. Meanwhile, the owner’s most expensive purchase at the event was Shardul Thakur. Capitals had to raise Rs 10.75 crore to avail the services of the all-rounder. Rowman Powell of the West Indies will serve DC this season as well.
Speaking of fast bowlers, DC bought the likes of Chetan Zakaria, Mustafizur Rahman, Kamlesh Nagercoil, and Khalil Ahmed to help Anrich Nortje. Captain Yash Dhul, who won the Under-19 World Cup in India, went to the DC camp. As far as the spin department is concerned, Akshar will be teaming up with Patel this season along with Kuldeep Yadav, Lalit Yadav, and Praveen Dube.
Superstars may not be on the team as much as they have been in the last two seasons. However, the team is still in the balance and Rishabh Bandh will take his team to the elusive title.
