Engine Alliance – GP7200

The GP7200 engines use lessons learned from over 25 million flight hours of successful operations with these legacy engines and use new technologies to create the quietest and most fuel-efficient engine for the A380 and Airbus A380 aircraft. 

The GP7200 utilizes the latest proven technology from each program and incorporates lessons learned from over 25 million flight hours of safe operation of both engines.

Engine Alliance The GP7200 engine has proven to be unique in its field and then amazingly maintains its position as the quietest, most fuel-efficient engine, most reliable, and then storage operator over $1 million in aircraft fuel annually. 

The Engine Alliance added that its GP7200 engine provides the lowest fuel consumption for its flagship A380 superjumbo jet. Airbus advertises the relative fuel efficiency of its A380 Superjumbo Admiral and A380 SuperJumbo Admiral.

Engine cores are assembled at the GE Aviation facility in Durham, North Carolina, with the final assembly taking place at the Pratt & Whitneys facility in Middletown, Connecticut.

MTU Aero Engines is the main upgrade partner with a 22.5% share. It was selected at the Dubai Air Show under a 2002 Emirates agreement to purchase GP7200 engines for an initial order for 22 A380s.
