Dinkar Balwant Deodhar:
Dinkar Balwant Deodhar(D B Deodhar) is the most famous Indian cricketer who has played in an official Test and also played 1st-class cricket from 1911 to 1948!
The vice president of the Board of Cricket council India(BCCI) and Maharashtra cricket board president was born on January 14, 1892, at Pune. The aggressive batsman played his matches before the first world war and after the second world war.
He was called the Grand Old Man of Indian cricket, maybe the reason he had scored 246 runs in the Ranji Trophy season 1940 at the age of 48. In the first match for team Maharashtra in 1944-45 at their home ground in Ranji trophy tournament, the team was in huge trouble 3/34 the 52 aged batsman Deodhar came to bat and scored 100 in both innings.
Under his captaincy team, Maharashtra had won the Ranji trophy two consecutive years 1939-1941.The other role of him as a professor in college teaching Sanskrit. first-class average 39.32 from 1911-1948. He passed away at the age of 101 the only Indian cricketer to make the 100 age mark.
History:
A 50 over game tournament in first-class cricket was named after Deodhar. Presently, it has been played between national teams. India B was the champions in 2019-20.BCCI cut off the 2021 season due to the covid pandemic.

North, East, West, South, Central zones each zone consisting of 5 teams. India A,B, C,3 teams consisting of 11 main players and 4 substitutes totaling 45 will be selected by the BCCI.
Format:
When the tournament began in 1973-74 the matches were played within their zones, then from 1975-2015, when two other zonal teams square off in the quarter-finals, winning teams qualified for the semi-final meeting with the other three teams. BCCI brought changes that made Vijay Hazare tournament winners face India A and B during 2017-18, then from 2018, only 3 teams played the tournament in a round-robin format.
