The history of United Airlines dates back to the year 1929 when William E. Boeing (1881–1956), Frederick B. Rentschler (1887–1956), and their partners established United Air Transport Company.

United Airlines said in a statement that they expect the first of the aircraft with an order to purchase 270 aircraft to arrive in 2023. United Airlines of New York (CNN Business) announced that they had placed an order to purchase 270 aircraft. 

An aircraft purchase in the company’s history and the largest order of any airline in nearly a decade, from orders for 270 aircraft to the purchase of 270 aircraft. The major purchase, in addition to United Airlines’ existing portfolio of Max aircraft orders, is another expression of confidence in Boeing.

About 200 aircraft will be used to expand United Airlines’ fleet of 500 aircraft, while 300 aircraft will replace older aircraft such as retired Boeing 757-200s, Andrew Nocella said. 

United Airlines also plans to expand to hubs such as Denver and Chicago, Nocella said, and achieve annual system-wide growth of about 4% to 6% over the next few years.
