Transport Infrastructure A great underlying system of public works:
Transport Infrastructure is an important source for all the economic activity and the interconnection between the populations of a nation. Transport is a vital element for the mobility of population as well distribution of goods from one to another place. But it was a big task for the government to provide transport facilities because there were lots of hindrances that came in the way of construction like physical barriers, missing links as well as funds. Transport is developed by the mutual understanding of state and international government.
History of Transport Infrastructure
In ancient times, people used simply crafted boats with logs, and rode animals. After some time they have switched to wheeled vehicles. People have used rods and water transport. With the passage of time people have built some of the more complex modes of transport like using streams, winds to move ships, trains, automobiles, and airplanes. This allowed people to change their environment that led to the development of transportation infrastructure.
In the past also people have constructed infrastructure for the development of transport, Like Egyptian people have built ports in the coastal zones(areas) of export and then import of goods although they also made inland waterways such as the great construction of dams or some other means. They have created channels that are used for the movement of goods from one place to another. To date, even the canal is one of the important parts of transportation. The canal building was at its peak in the middle age in the United States
In ancient Egyptian civilization, land transportation has changed and the building of roads and highways were made by connecting cities to the rural areas. This has improved in 1600 in Europe
In 1800 the development of the locomotive engine led to the development of roadways. The world’s first underground line opened in London, England, in 1863. Subways are still an important part of the transport infrastructure in many of the world’s largest cities.
